The Deepwater Horizon event was an oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico in 2010. Since then, we’ve come a long way in the science of studying oil spills and their impact on the environment. This short video is a combination of footage from the event and 2D animation, created for the National Museum of Natural History and the Gulf of Mexico Research Initiative.
